Why?

My children seem to have a serious obsession with hair. More specifically, they have an obsession with CUTTING hair.

In January, we found Quin in the bathroom, sitting on the counter, using Joe's razor to "trim his hair out of his eyes"!

This was the end result of that little haircut! Tragically, as soon as his hair had grown out enough to actually look decent, he cut it again. It was only a small bit of hair right at the top, so I ignored it until his hair grew out a bit more and then trimmed it up. Quin's hair is so light in color he looked bald FOREVER!

So, last night Clay came running downstairs yelling about some, "trouble upstairs". I suppose I should have expected this.

Ali had found a pair of scissors in my sewing room and lopped off the bottom two+ inches of ONE of her pigtails. The worst part, was I had only put the top half of her hair in the pig tails and when she attempted to cut off the pigtail, she also chopped off about four inches of the hair on the left side of her head. Beautiful.

We've got an appointment at 1:30 today to salvage what we can of her hair. I'm more upset about it because her hair was just starting to look long again after her last haircut (December of last year). I was getting excited to be able to braid it and put it up real cute...oh well, I suppose another year won't hurt!

Moral of the story, scissors, razors and other cutting tools belong in locked compartments at least six feet off the ground. Or, just give everyone a buzz cut!

I'll post pictures later today after the haircut...

oh my gosh!!!! Isn't it amazing what kids can do and how fast they get it done. Paige did the same thing luckily her hair was all in a pony. She definantly had a lot of layers after that. oh well,At least hair grows back...right!!!Can't wait to see the photos of the beautiful new hairdo:) I cannot believe that he was trying to cut the hair out of his eyes with a razor....seriously that is so scary.
