Clay and I had another belt test tonight.
Clay completed all of the requirements for his Master Green Belt. He was very pleased with his accomplishment, and I am very proud of him as well.
I completed all of my requirements for my Master Blue Belt. Quin was quick to point out that we are now "tied"! That's right. I have the same belt rank as my five year old son...so glad he pointed that out!
Anyhow, I'm looking into another competition that won't be coming up until April of next year, but I will probably be competing in at least two, if not three, different events instead of just one. Hopefully I'll be able to remember that much stuff and not completely blow it. I am looking forward to competing again though and I am very excited about having Clay compete with me. I really think he will do well in competitions because he takes his lessons very seriously and I know he will do his very best.
Quin, on the other hand, I am debating on whether or not to keep him in Karate. He does well enough, and has actually excelled in some things, but he has no patience for most of it and is VERY EASILY distracted. I suppose if he was in a one-on-one class, he would do just fine, but in a class with six or seven other little boys, he is in la-la land. So, I've been looking into other pursuits he may find better suited to his personality. I just want him to have something that is his very own, that he can excel in, and something he truly enjoys doing. I'm convinced Karate is NOT that thing. I was thinking of signing him up for a gymnastics class because he loves doing crazy monkey tricks. I also thought about swimming, because he really loves being in the water, we'll see.

I love that you want each child to have something they love... I'm curious to hear what you choose. You have four awesome kids, that's for sure! And they have an awesome mom!
And WOOT for potty training!!! This IS good news!
