I had my three week eye appointment....or whatever it is now.
I now have 20/20 vision in my right eye and my left eye is 20/60. The bad news is it could take a few more weeks before my left eye has completely healed. In the mean time I will continue to get headaches and tired eyes because my right eye is continually compensating for the left eye. It will be nice to discontinue squinting at everything....I've been getting bad headaches from it and my eyes feel 'droopy'. If that makes any sense.
The good news is that my left eye is improving with every visit. My right eye is perfect and when the Dr. looked at it he said no one would ever be able to tell I'd had surgery on it because it healed beautifully! Ya!!! The Dr. has every confidence that I will heal just fine and it should be within the next couple weeks. I do have another follow up visit in June and if I haven't made a complete recovery by then, they will take steps to see what we can do to remedy my issues.
I am hopeful it won't come to that. I am buoyed up by the knowledge that I have been making steady improvements with each visit. My vision in the left eye was worse than my right from the beginning which would also account for the greater length of time needed to heal.
So, nothing to worry about, things are looking good on this front...hopefully I'll have an even better update in a few more weeks!
Oh, I must also add that my 'droopy' eyes might also have something to do with last night.
I went to bed at 12pm because I stayed up to clean the house. I was having a neighbor come watch the kids while I went to my appointment (they have signs all over saying 'no children'). Anyhow, I woke up at 2am to Jack screaming. He had thrown up ALL OVER his bed, and pooped out his diaper. He was a MESS! I had to bathe him and get new pjs, pull all his bedding out and throw it in the laundry. I stayed up with him until 4:30 (he was of course as happy as could be and VERY cute after I got him all cleaned up). By then, I could no longer keep my eyes open so I set up the extra crib in my room (I didn't want to wake up Ali trying to put new bedding in the crib) and put fresh bedding in it and laid him in there. I laid on my bed and we both fell asleep around 5am. I got up at 7am to get Clay off to school, call my neighbor and told her NOT to come watch the kids and then we got ready and left for the eye appt at 9am. I left the kids watching a movie in the car while I ran in (the appt took all of 5 minutes, actually more like 7). Oh, and Jack spit up on me just as we were walking out the door so I smelt like vomit, just a little! When we got home I put Jack down in the crib in my room and he was up five minutes later because he had blown out ANOTHER diaper. I had to bathe him, change the dirty bedding and put new bedding in HIS crib, again....this is a pretty good description of my day....it more or less was a replay of this for the rest of the afternoon....with the addition of about fifty loads of laundry....most of it nasty bedding....very few variations....
I love these days, they make you very grateful for you spouse, when he's home, and the kids, when they're asleep!!!!
This is me signing off, going to bed and wishing you all a better day tomorrow than I had today!!!

Wow, wow, wow. Gotta love diaper blowouts!
I hope things keep getting better with your eye!!
wow...i am sorry, if you ever need anything, I am just through the backyard!
Oh My Goodness! I wish I was there to help you!
I really hope things work out with your left eye, but I'm glad everything is so good with the right one. Can they do a further surgery on your left one if it doesn't reach 20/20? I am so interested in all of that because I want it done so badly!
