Our Happy Halloween!

Here are my darling children on Halloween. Joe was out of town (getting a sunburn in Phoenix, AZ) so I got them all dressed up and, thankfully, a neighbor offered to bring the boys around the neighborhood to trick-or-treat so that I could put Ali to bed at a decent hour! The boys left to trick-or-treat at 6:45pm and Ali was asleep by 7pm. I had the house to myself and it was SOOO quiet! I sat on the couch reading a book in between trick-or-treaters (which were few and far between). It was great. The boys came home by 8 o'clock and after eating a few pieces of candy went to bed. I had a group of three boys come by just after that and I dumped the rest of my bowl of candy into their pillowcases (I also dumped a bunch of the candy the boys had collected in, I figured we didn't need it lying around the house)! It was a very relaxing evening! Here is a pic of the kids before church Sunday. Aren't they so cute! They are growing up so fast. Clay came into my room this morning saying his tooth hurt. I felt the offending tooth and it was wiggling! He has a LOOSE TOOTH! Joe said Clay was too young to be loosing teeth, I informed him he was right on time. To that Joe replied, "Man we are getting old!" Every time one of the kids reaches another stepping stone in their life we start feeling older. I can't believe we have a kid in kindergarten and I can't believe he is old enough to be loosing his teeth. He was just a baby! How time flies.
There have been a few changes in our house. Joe is opening a new area of business and traveling every other week to Phoenix now. He is excited because it keeps him really busy, but it is hard starting over in a new area so he is also feeling a bit of stress and pressure. He is really doing great though and we are very proud of him.
I spoke to my sister on the phone last week (the one who is pregnant and due two weeks after me) and she said she cut her hair, which was a good six inches longer than mine, and said it was very liberating. It made me start feeling like I could use a good change. So, Friday I took a leap and chopped a wopping 10+ inches off my hair. I gave her instructions to cut it up to my chin and then style it so that it would look good. She did a great job, or at least I think she did. It feels SOOOO good. It is so short. It is very easy to style and doesn't require a lot of fussing, which is manditory because I don't have a lot of time to spend on my self in the mornings (imagine that)! Needless to say I felt so good when I got back I called a sitter and Joe and I took off on our first date in months! It was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed spending some one-on-one time with him. We decided we are lucky if we get out alone once a quarter, so it was nice to have an excuse to get some time alone, even if it was just celebrating a new hair cut!Joe just took a snap shot for you all to view...just look at my lovely self!
