What is your favorite kind of cereal?
I suppose I would have to say Cheerios (Honey Nut or Plain). They never get old, there's not too much sugar and they're always good. (It's probably because we only ate the store brand toasted oats as children and I hated them...tasting the real thing was absolute heaven...I can still remember the first time I had them at my grandparents home...is that weird?)
Soup
When was the last time you purchased something for your home, what was it, and in which room did it go?
We've been remodeling the basement bathroom, so I've actually made several purchases recently. The most recent, however, was the shower panel last week...it has three jets, not including the main shower head. I'm pretty sure you will be able to feel totally clean without even using soap - sort of like being sprayed with a fire hose. (There is nothing better than good water pressure!)
Salad
What is the funniest commercial you’ve ever seen?
I'm not sure...it's been a while since I've seen one I really like. I find this a very fitting question just before the Super Bowl, however, because, like many others, I find the Super Bowl Commercials to be some of the best...usually! Hopefully there will be some note worthy ones this Sunday!
Main Course
Make up a name for a company by using a spice and an animal (example: Cinnamon Monkey).
Lemon Pepper Chicken....totally unimaginative, but temptingly delicious! We actually had that for dinner last night...
Dessert
Fill in the blank: I haven’t ______ since ______.
I haven't been to a drive in movie since 2001. Funny how that date coincides so nicely with when we started having children....someday, when it's a little warmer and the children are older, I'll go again...hopefully!

Feast One Hundred & Sixty Nine
It's good to be back on the feasting network...enjoy!
Appetizer
What was your first “real” job?
One of my neighbors called me up and offered me a position as a substitute teacher for an after-school program. I worked at several of the elementary schools in the area and had a lot of fun. I would leave right after school and work until around 5:30 and then have the rest of the afternoon to attend my social obligations! I wasn't needed every day, but there were enough schools in the area that I was kept pretty busy if I wanted the work and the pay was pretty good for an irresponsible High School student!
Soup
Where would you go if you wanted to spark your creativity?
I would go somewhere quiet with lots of color and books...a library or museum probably. That may sound silly, but I am very inspired by other peoples genius, whether literary, artistic or otherwise. I also have a brood of children so anywhere that offers peace and quiet is very inspiring!!!
Salad
Complete this sentence: I am embarrassed when…
other people fight or get into arguments in my presence. Does anyone else feel that way? Like being at a friend or family members home when they start yelling at each other. I am so embarrassed, more for them than for myself, but it makes me terribly uncomfortable.
Main Course
What values did your parents instill in you?
Hard work and honesty. My parents are two of the hardest working people I have ever met. They are up at the crack of dawn and don't go down until the work is done. They don't complain about what has to get done they just roll up their sleeves and get to work. They are also very honest with people. They are honest in the way they deal with other people and they are honest with themselves. I think those are two of the most important characteristics a person could have and I feel very blessed to have a set of parents who exemplify them so well.
Dessert
Name 3 fads from your teenage years.
I believe I've tried very diligently to block out most of those memories, but here goes nothing...
1. Neon clothing. Everything we wore had bright neon colors, usually matched with something black. I hate neon.
2. Peg legged pants. I actually recall purchasing pants I didn't think were tight enough at the bottom so I sewed them so I had to lay down to pull my foot through them - they were SO tight!
3. BIG hair. The bigger your bangs the better. My hair has NO natural curl or body so this really sucked for me. I had my hair permed for most of my teenage years to add body and get the right amount of PUFF....hideous, truly hideous.
Just a note, my mother actually REFUSED to purchase my school pictures one year because she said I looked so bad....I had thought I looked pretty good that day...just goes to show you how little a teenager really knows!

Feast One Hundred & Fifty Two

On a scale of 1 to 10 (with 10 being highest) how much do enjoy watching sports on television?
2 - I'm one of those people who only watches sports every blue moon. I do occasionally watch the super bowl, but that is mostly for the commercials (I'm one of THOSE people!) Sports are just more fun when you know the players personally.
Soup
If you could completely memorize any one work of fiction, which one would you pick?
Tough question! I would probably have to pick the Dr. Suess collection. Everyone is familiar with Dr. Suess and it would be pretty cool to be able to start spouting off some Cat in the Hat - especially when you have kids!!
Salad
What is your favorite breakfast food?
Eggs. They are extremely versatile and they taste good to!
Main Course
Name something fun you can do for less than $10.00.
We took the kids to the dollar store once and bought them each a kite and then spent the afternoon flying kites at a park near the house. It was a lot of fun, and if you're only in it a few bucks, you don't feel as bad when the kite gets stuck in the trees!
Dessert
How long does it usually take you to fall asleep?
Lately it only takes until my head hits the pillows! I have practically fallen asleep getting into bed.

Feast One Hundred & Forty Eight
Appetizer
Fill in the blank: The best thing about where I live is ________________…
Great Neighbors. I have the best neighbors. They are the kind of people you can always count on when you're in a jam.
Soup
Create a new name for a deodorant (like “Flower Fresh” or “Shower Scent”).
"Stink No More" Even with such a HORRIBLE name, I bet there would be people who would buy it thinking it would truly make them not stink. It probably wouldn't be a big seller, but you never know!?!
Salad
What was the last piece of software you installed onto your computer?
I just got a new laptop and I think that Quicken was the last software I installed. I love Quicken. I'm super particular about things being organized so software like Quicken is crucial!
Main Course
If you were to receive a superlative award today beginning with the words ”Most likely to…”, what would the rest of the phrase say?
I was having a lot of trouble with this one and asked my younger sister what award she would give me. She said, "...be nominated mother of the year!" I'm pretty darn sure that would never happen in a MILLION years...but is sure sounds good and it's nice to know that someone believes it!!!
Dessert
What two colors do you like to wear together?
I love to wear pink and brown.

Appetizer
Name something you think is “the best.”
My husband. No explanation needed. He is definitely "the best"!!!
Soup
On a scale of 1 to 10 (with 10 highest), how stressed are you today?
8. I'm not really sure why though. Probably because the dirty laundry is coming out my ears and the house is a mess. I'm always stressed when the house is a mess.
Salad
What kind of cleanser do you use to wash your face?
None. I'm not really into face washing. My face only breaks out with acne if I start using some cleanser on my face. I don't wear make-up very often so I wash my face in the shower and leave it at that.
Main Course
Tonight is a blue moon! What is something that you believe only happens “once in a blue moon.”
When you have a nursing baby, a good nights sleep only happens "once in a blue moon". I might just get lucky tonight!!!
Dessert
When was the last time it rained where you live?
Just last week. It was a pretty overcast and gloomy week. Now we are back to SUN, SUN, SUN!!!

Appetizer
Name a sound you like to hear.
The sound of waves hitting the beach. Not only is it soothing, but it means I'm on vacation somewhere and that is always a good thing!
Soup
What is your favorite kind of cheese?
I guess that would depend on what I'm eating with the cheese...I like most all cheeses, but Medium Cheddar is an all time favorite of mine.
Salad
Do you sleep late on Saturday mornings? Why or why not?
Only once every blue moon! I have four kids under the age of 6 and they don't understand the simple pleasure that comes from sleeping in on a Saturday morning...oh well!
Main Course
When was the last time you forgot something? What was it, and how long did it take to remember it?
The last time I went to the store to pick up a prescription I forgot my wallet. I didn't remember it until I was getting ready to go inside the store. I was so frustrated I went home and waited until my husband got home the next day to go back.
Dessert
Fill in the blank: I notice ____________ when _____________.
I notice that I'm a lot happier when I've had a good nights sleep.

When you were a child, which crayon color was your favorite?
Blue

On a scale of 1 to 10 (with 10 being highest), how likely would you be to change jobs if it required you to move?
0. I'm a stay at home mom, I wouldn't change my job for anything!
Salad
Take all the numbers in your birthday and your phone number and add them up, one by one. What’s the total?
66
Main Course
Have you ever “re-gifted” anything? If so, what was it and who did you pass it on to?
Who hasn't done this at least once? When we got married we received FIVE of those dinner trays (for breakfast in bed or whatever), we ended up re-wrapping them and giving them away when other friends got married! (I think they must have been on sale that month!)
Dessert
Name something you need from the store.
Nothing, I went last night.

March 30th, 2007

What are you proud of? My Children. No matter how much they drive me insane, they always seem to exceed my expectations!
Soup
What is the best thing you’ve ever won as a prize? I won a really nice plaque in a Statewide Business Competition while I was in highschool...that's about it I think...sad huh?!?
Salad
Name something you do that is a waste of time. Watching television. I don't watch very often because we only get basic channels (and there is never anything good on during the day), but every now and then I watch TV during the evenings after the kids go to bed. I'm always thinking about everything else I could be getting done, what a waste of time!!!
Main Course
In what year of your life did you change the most? My 19th year. I graduated with my Associates Degree, married my wonderful husband and got pregnant with my first child. I did a lot of 'growing up' that year.
Dessert
Where is a place you consider to be very tranquil? The great outdoors - the beach, the mountains or my own backyard. I feel most at peace in the outdoors (probably because of the whole getting in touch with nature thing).

Who is your favorite news anchor/reporter? Why? I really liked Walter Cronkite, mostly because that is who I grew up watching and I just plain like the guy. As far as current news anchors, however, there are more of them that I don't like and none that I'm particularly crazy about. That probably sounds rather judgemental, oh well, it's the truth.
Soup
Name 3 foods that are currently in your freezer. Chicken, Mixed Berries, Vanilla Ice cream
SaladIf you were to have the opportunity to name a new town or city, what would you call it? Do people really think about this? I can't say it's ever crossed my mind. I do think it would be pretty cool to live in a town called Heaven. When people ask where you are from or where you are going you could say, "Heaven!" It could be funny...
Main Course
What will most likely be the next book you read? Jesus the Christ (I started it two weeks ago while I was in labor, got two pages in and couldn't remember what I'd just read. I decided it would be better to start when I could focus!)
Dessert
What's the first thing you notice about the opposite gender? Eyes. You can tell a lot about a person by their eyes - they are, after all, the window to ones' soul!

Friday's Feast
I checked out Friday's Feast after reading Candice's a few weeks ago. I was really intrigued by it so I thought I would give it a go. It's amazing the things it makes you think about and what you can learn about yourself and others....here goes nothing!
Feast One Hundred & Thirty Two (My answers are in purple!)
AppetizerFeast One Hundred & Thirty Two (My answers are in purple!)
Where on your body do you have a scar, and what caused it? At my age I've acquired quite a few, but the biggest is along the inside of my right calf. I was using my mother's stationary exercise bike as a kid and the pedal fell off. The medal bar sliced right up my leg and left a pretty gruesome scare. It has faded a lot over the past 10 years and thankfully isn't very noticeable anymore.
Soup
What is something that has happened to you that you would consider a miracle? Meeting and marrying my husband. Cheesy answer, I know, but without him I wouldn't have any of the other things I would consider miracles in my life. My greatest blessings have come from the relationship I have with my husband...he's the best!
Salad
Name a television personality who really gets on your nerves. The guy who hosts America's Funniest Home Videos and Dancing With The Stars. I don't think he is funny, annoying maybe, not funny.
Main Course
What was a funny word you said as a child (such as "pasketti" for "spaghetti")? If I did anything like that, I can't remember and my parents have never mentioned anything. My little brother's best friend, however, always pronounced his "j's" as "d's" so we were constantly asking him to say "jam" - he said it "dam". We never tired of that...
Dessert
Fill in the blank: I have always thought _life long learning_ was _important_.
