What's Wrong With People???

A few months back there was an article in the paper about a 20yr old guy who was arrested for having 'inappropriate relations' (multiple times) with a 14yr old girl that lives in my neighborhood - AT THE PARK! OUR PARK...it makes me sick to my stomach, for several reasons... I never remember seeing him, but my brother and several of the neighbors had seen him and the girl coming out of the park or driving up our street.

What if my kids were out there playing and saw them? What if they were approached by someone like that? WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE?!?!?!

SEVERAL times over the last few months I've noticed a truck coming up to the park during school hours, and apparently some of the other neighbors have noticed as well. I know that the kid who drives it is a high school student. I've seen him and his friends (both boys and girls) sit at the park and smoke by the truck. Sometimes they walk down by the stream and heaven knows what they're doing then (but I'm gonna bet it's something they shouldn't be doing). They always leave if adults come up to the park, which is a bit of a red flag that they know they shouldn't be there doing what they're doing.

My kids play at that park. They fish down by the stream. I don't feel safe letting my kids play outside without VERY CLOSE supervision because I have no idea what sort of 'traffic' is going to be 'hanging out' at the park! GRRRRRR....one of the things I loved most when we bought this place was being so close to the park. Why do people have to ruin it for me? For my kids? Again I ask, What is wrong with people?

One of the neighbors called the police today on these kids...I have no idea what the outcome of that was, but I certainly hope it deters them, and anyone else hoping to use the park for inappropriate, or illegal, behavior from coming back.

Oh no! I am so sorry...isnt it so hard to believe that "THAT" stuff happens so close to where we raise our kids...we have dealt with that here too....ugh...I guess we just have to do our best at protecting our kids from that!

That's too bad that people ruin things for everyone.

We were having some problems in the park behind our house but between constant calls to the police, police patrols and some winter weather it discouraged those coming around. Hopefully they find another place this spring. Good luck!

So I have a few ideas:
1) Put up big sign that say "My Kids Don't Crash your Raves Please Don't be Delinquent in Our Park!"
2) Stage a sit in with the fellow moms in the neighborhood. The twist...every one breastfeed or put blankets over their chests to suggest such. Nothin' gets rid of teenage boys faster than the sit of some Lactating!

But seriously, that is so annoying!

EWW! Seriously, you do have to wonder what is wrong with some people. What a bummer that they choose to manifest their stupidity so close to your home. I can't believe Jack is 3! What a cutie! And I am LOVING those skirts, but alas, I have no girls to dress in such things.
