So here's the scoop...
I had another Dr's appt on Thursday, the 23rd, and was dilated to a 5, 80% effaced. My Dr was a bit concerned that I wouldn't make it to the hospital if I were to wait and go into labor on my own. She said she would be working the weekend at the hospital and asked if I'd be interested in having my water broken in the morning...no need to ask twice!
Just before we left for the hospital...so huge.
Joe and I left for the hospital at 7:30am Friday morning. We got in our room and waited around until 10am for the Dr to come and break my water. I spent the next few hours walking around the hospital hallways waiting for the contractions to come. There really wasn't a whole lot of anything happening. I would have a couple good contractions, then nothing.
By noon the Dr decided to give me just a 'whiff' of PIT to see if it would get things going. They put it at a 1 for less than 30 minutes and that was all it took! My contractions started coming and they got good and strong pretty quickly. By 1pm I was at a 7 and Max William was born at 1:45pm after two good contractions. He had his cord wrapped twice around his neck, and between that and his rather quick entrance into this world, he got a SEVERELY bruised face. The pictures are pretty gruesome.
Me and the little purple people eater.
You can sort of see the line where the cord was, he's darn pink everywhere else.
This pic was taken after his first bath. He looks slightly better...slightly. I love how he's got his finger in his mouth...he LOVES to eat, even if it means settling for fingers!
Other than his upsetting appearance, he is perfectly healthy and we love him SO much. He is a delightful baby and I am so happy he is here. His siblings adore him and have been very good to him and mom. We are very well taken care of here.
My five big men...love em!
So very happy to be done and going home...parasite free!!
These were taken on Sunday before we left. Notice the dramatic improvement in his facial coloring. He improved so much each day. He still has a bit of bruising around his eyes and mouth, but we're getting there.

Audri! Congratulations! I will echo previous posts by saying I am SO jealous of how adorable you are pregnant and right after delivery! Holy Cow, I was a beached whale...it just isn't fair. Anyway, he is adorable and I love his name! I'm happy you are both healthy and home.
Aaaww...poor little purple guy. Oh well, pinked right up! And yes...the rest of us would like to know how you are allowed to be beautiful after just having a baby. Not fair! But you are, and your kids and especially the new one are soooo cute. Congratulations!!!
Congratulations! What did he weigh? He looks really great and plump. I love plump babies.
What a doll, the purple just makes for great stories when he gets older :) I laugh when you say they started your PIT at a 1, mine was at a 30. My babies don't like coming out and my body doesn't want to let them out. You look great. Congratulations.
Audri- I am so happy for you and Joe! Congrats on a darling little boy.
