Our family at Temple Square in August...
This update is a bit overdue. I've been meaning to post something for a while now, but keep finding other things to occupy my time.
So, here's the scoop:
We are officially moved into the new house. All the bedrooms are painted and we've begun painting the livingroom/kitchen. The kids have completed their first week of school and we've attended our new ward. We love both and are slowly learning the names of new people and remembering new faces. The kids have already started making new friends and are having a great time playing with them and enjoying new adventures.
Joe's brother, Dan, got married on Saturday. We spent the day down in Lehi and had a really great time visiting with family and friends. It was really great to get caught up and be with family celebrating Dan and Kim's wedding.
We had Joe's twin sisters and his mom visit us for a few days and it was great to have them here. We always enjoy having them come and visit us.
Lois and I went quilt shopping on Monday and I got the quilting bug again...I'm really hoping to make some time to finish up a few old projects so I can begin a few new ones. I haven't gotten a desk in my sewing room yet and there is still a lot of stuff to be sorted out in there before I can get to work, but my goal is to have that finished up within the next two weeks...we'll see!
We had over SEVEN inches of snow Sunday morning. It took me a whole hour to shovel the driveway. We had planned on attending the old ward, but by the time I finished shoveling we were late and ended up going to the new ward instead. The snow was so wet and heavy! When we got back from church the kids put on their snow gear and built a huge fort in the park with Ben...it was pretty awesome. I gotta tell you, it's amazing how much colder it is here, and we're only a couple miles away! Crazy.
Joe's gone on business again this week, and the kids have fall break. So, the kids and I are heading to Rexburg to visit my sister, who just had her fourth baby last week. We've heard he was born with a full head of dark hair just like my kids, the other three were bald, which made me sooo happy (we need some more brunettes)! We're excited to meet him and spend some time with family. Oh, and they named the baby Troy, I can't remember the middle name.
Anyhow, not much else is new. We're getting into a pretty good routine. Life has started to settle down a little. There is still a lot to be done, but we are happy and looking forward to new adventures!
Here are some random pictures that made me smile:
This is our manny, Ben. Actually it's my little brother who lives in our basement and is doing all the great work on our house. I loved this picture of him...it takes a real man to carry a pink purse (a very cute pink purse I might add...I made it!).
Me and my darling daughter Ali...feel the love...
