What a day! What a week!
We've been on the move this week with some serious non-stop partying! It all began Sunday when we had some friends and family over for a dinner party. Monday we were invited to a Halloween Party at our new Bishop's home with some other new families in the ward. The kids got to do a scavenger hunt and carve pumpkins...very exciting! Tuesday was our only day off.
Wednesday we had a Halloween party at the Karate Studio.
Quin-Ghost, Ali-Witch, Jack-Chicken, Clay-Skeleton...on front porch before Karate party.
Thursday was the boys Costume Parade at the Elementary school, as well as their class parties for school.
Clay and Quin at the School Parade, they really had a great time, and we really enjoyed seeing all the unusual and clever costumes!
That evening we had our Ward Trunk-or-Treat at the old ward, which I was in charge of...sort of. Technically our records aren't in the ward anymore, but I'd already planned everything and they didn't have anyone else called. I'm sort of glad for that because I love that activity and I've always enjoyed dressing up for it and helping out...good stuff!
Today we, and a bunch of families from the neighborhood, went to one of the neighbors' homes for dinner and then all the dads took the kids trick-or-treating while the mom's stayed home and hung out!
Clay-Skeleton, Quin-Ghost, Audri-Fairy?, Ali-Poodle, Jack-Bat. Here we are after Trick-or-Treating. (FYI. I got the angel dress from my mom's Halloween bucket, but it had no wings or halo. So, after looking in vain for angel wings, I found a lone pair of fairy wings at Joannes. They didn't have a price tag, so the very nice lady grabbed a package of princess jewelry and rang that up instead. With the 50% off Halloween items I spent $1.00. I nearly bought one of the little girl fairy costumes just so I could use their wings, they were over $20.00 a piece! My total costume cost: $1.00. Nothing beats a good deal!)
I went home a bit early to pass out candy. It was fun to see all the costumes and meet some of the kids from Clay and Quin's school classes, as well as some of our new neighbors when they stopped by for treats!
Anyhow, it's been a bit more crazy this holiday season, but we sure are loving it and it has been very helpful for all of us to catch up with old friends, meet new people and make new friends! We have definitely enjoyed ourselves and hope you all had a wonderful Halloween!!!
P.S. Funny Stories for the week:
1. During Sacrament meeting two weeks ago, Ali got taken out because she was being loud and naughty. Joe asks her if she will behave and be a nice girl so they can go back in. Ali's reply, "I don't want to be a good girl! I want to be a poodle!!!" Can't argue with CRAZY!!! (It really made Joe mad...how exactly do you reply to that?!)
2. I was watching some of our neighbor's kids (from Woods Cross) and the five year old asks for a drink. I got her a glass of milk from the fridge. She took a long drink and says, "The milk here in Bountiful is delicious!" Yup, delicious! Must just be the higher elevation...does something wonderful to it...right!?!
