The kids went out front and did fireworks on Sunday. We knew we'd be up in Idaho for the 4th and I wanted to do some fireworks with the kids at our place. It was all a lot of fun until Ali grabbed the hot end of a sparkler and got a really intense burn on her pointer finger. She was pretty upset about it. She kept ice on it for a long while and then let me bandage it up with some Aloe Vera...that, and a bit of Tylenol, helped a lot!
These pictures are from the first day of our second summer road trip. We went back up to Idaho for a reunion on my mom's side of the family. We spent the first day at Scott & Cheri's up in Rexburg. The kids sure enjoy getting together. They all did really well getting along too! That's always a bonus...we played in the yard, played with playdough on the patio and went to a really great stake activity for their ward. It was a long tiring day, you know, with all that playing and driving and stuff...so the kids hit the sack and slept really well....sigh.
The second day of our trip we went to the water park, because it was AWESOME, and spent some time playing in the, rather cold, water! The kids had a blast but soon started shivering so we went and let them dry out a bit while they played on the park toys. They sure had a good time and worked up a pretty decent appetite by lunch time. We had lunch at the park and then made a mandatory stop at the carousel! the kids really get a kick out of it. Ali wanted to go "Three Times!!!", she said. (I think I'd have vomited.) After our ride, we walked home and then loaded up and went back to grandma and grandpa's house. The kids spent the rest of the afternoon helping in the yard and making messes in the house...it was a good, long day!
Today I felt like crap and, sadly, didn't get many photos. It was a pretty lazy day. The kids stayed inside most of the day because it was so darn hot. They watched movies, played games, colored pictures and worked on workbooks. They spent a lot of the day eating and made sure to take time out to harass one another, just to liven things up a bit. I brought my camera out with me when we took the new goldfish out to the pond. The kids got to let them out into the pond and I couldn't take pictures and keep kids from falling in at the same time, so no pictures of that. I did, however, get some really great ones of Jack and Gunner playing in the backyard. They sure get along well and they are so BOY! Gunner would go down the slide on his butt and Jack would follow on his stomach...there were a few crashes, but no tears. What cuties.
