I must first begin by saying I am SOOOO proud of Clayton. He ran the BIAU (Brain Injury Association of Utah) 5K with me on Saturday. We completed the race in 39 minutes, and he tried really hard to run as much as he could. He was so excited about it, in fact, that he chose NOT to attend the Father and Sons camp out (which is a really BIG deal) because he was concerned he might be too tired to run the race, or even worse, that he might miss it. So, instead of going on the camp out, he slept in a tent in our backyard, went to bed early, woke up at 5:45am and went to Liberty Park to run just over 3 miles with his mother for a little boy he didn't know...how awesome is that?!?!? I couldn't be more pleased. So these are pics of us in the car just after we arrived and outside just after we finished.
In other news, Jacko has taken to watching TV - three inches from the screen, on his belly, while he kicks his legs....it's absolutely adorable, but if he continues he'll need glasses before he turns two!
Also, not to be neglected, is the progress of my darling Ali. She has been watching 'Elmo's Potty Time' (the very film my children are engrossed in above) for hours on end. She picked it out from the library on Friday and can't get enough. Elmo will ask "if you pee in the potty?" and Ali will answer, "Yes!" And, evil mother that I am, I'm thinking, Yah right....liar! But as though to prove me wrong we are sitting in Sacrament meeting today, which is at the very end of church, and Ali informs me she needs to go pee. I took her to the rest room and sure enough she goes pee in the potty, and even more impressive than that, her diaper was still completely dry!!! I was impressed. The tragic part of this tale is that shortly after getting home she pooped in her diaper....I suppose I can assume we are only church potty trained. The good news here is that I now only have to work on getting her to pee and poop in the potty for the other 6 days and 21 hours in the week! I can do this!!!
I had to include this picture because it was really cute. Jack and his cousin, Owen, kept walking over to my front window and peering out. They would be fine for a couple seconds and then start pushing each other out of the way - you know, to acquire the better position....it was pretty funny!
So here are some pictures of our home improvements. These are not professionally done, imagine that, and the coloring SUCKS, but it's as good as I can do under the circumstances....
I didn't get a chance to take pictures of Ali's room yet because every time I think about it Jack's taking a nap and it isn't worth waking him up over! I'll try and get those later.
I suppose the house isn't the best, it certainly isn't the newest, but I think it looks GREAT when you consider it's older than me, and I've most definitely passed the first blush of youth! So, despite our homes growing wrinkles and aging facade, its little face lift didn't turn out too bad!
Oh, and for those who care, if any of you do, I finished reading Northanger Abbey and Presumption. I would definitely recommend both. I loved reading them and found them to be rather entertaining. I enjoy Jane Austen's sense of humor and although I admit to taking a few chapters to really get into Northanger Abbey, I really loved it once I got into it. Also, I feel Julia Barrett did a FABULOUS job of staying true to the characters created by Jane Austen in her sequel to Pride and Prejudice. If anyone out there has read, and enjoyed, the later, I would definitely recommend reading Presumption, it was excellent!

Hey Audri, the house looks great and congrats on you and Clay running. That is quite an accomplishment. I am excited for summer and Allison being out, but I am sure that will wear off fairly quickly and I will be ready for Allison and Mathew to be in school!
What a cute post! I love the 5K pictures (how awesome that you guys did that!), the picture of Jack watching TV (that is a pretty dang cute picture), the pics of your house are fantastic (it does not look like four kids or more have lived there!), and congrats on the church potty training!!! (hopefully Elmo will continue to solve all of your problems!!)
