Go-Kart Mania!!!!

Joe and I went and drove go-karts with my sister Maggi and her husband Phillip, and my brother Ben and his date Karin. It was a lot of fun. I've never been before and was TERRIFIED to run into people. My husband, brother and sister, on the other hand, thought that was the best part!

The pictures aren't the best, but we were driving so fast - almost at the speed of light...technically they don't go over 35mph, but it felt pretty fast when your butt is only inches from the ground and every ten feet you're rounding another corner! We had a really great time. No one else was there when we showed up so they opened the track all the way up so we were able to do 40 FULL laps! It took us more than a half hour to finish the race. Our hands were numb, our legs were stiff, everyone's eyes were bloodshot and we all stunk like exhaust!

We took a break after that and then went back in and did a ten minute race around the half track. That was a bit more intense because we were so close together. There was a lot of 'accidental bumping' during that race. I was the only driver who can honestly claim NOT to have purposefully 'bumped' into anyone.

This is Karin, Ben, Joe and I. I'm threatening Joe for giving me whiplash when he came tearing into me from behind....it hurt so bad! I was trying not to run over my sister and ended up getting rear ended! Go figure.

It was a really great date though and we all had a marvelous time. The funniest part was that when we all woke up the next day we were all finding mysterious bruises all over our backs, sides, butts and arms....we look like a leper colony with all our spots! I have a softball size green and purple one with a big red spot in the middle, where the blood vessel burst, on my thigh - I believe that one was from my sister who claimed her 'brakes weren't working'! Actually, I do believe her because she about ran over the guy who worked there twice!!! Poor guy probably thought she had it in for him!

Anyhow, I don't think I'll need to go again for another ten years or so, my body couldn't take the bruising, but we all had a blast!

Hilarious! What an adventure! I haven't ridden a go-cart in years, but you took it to a whole new level!

That looks like a lot of fun! I think I may be getting too wimpy for that anymore.
