This is a, late, picture of Quin on his first day of preschool.
I bought myself a pair of rain galoshes and I am totally in love with them.
On another note, I have discovered a new talent. Clay has always been interested in art, drawing, painting, etc... He decided he wanted to paint a picture out of one of his books while he was off track the beginning of October. So, I decided we would each paint the picture and it has become a really fun pastime of ours. In fact, I have enjoyed myself so much, I have started finding pictures in the kids books and painting them while the kids are at school. I have never considered myself very artsy, but I am really enjoying it and I feel like I'm improving (the jury is still out on that). Anyhow, I thought you might enjoy some of our masterpieces!
This is our first painting from the book, 'Today at School' By Matt Ringler Illustrated by George Ulrich.
This is from the book, 'Five Little Pumpkins' By Dan Yaccarino.
We only had room on our paper for four of the five pumpkins, so we've titled ours 'Four Little Pumpkins'. So creative, I know!
This is from the book, 'The Great Turkey Race' By Steve Metzger Illustrated by Jim Paillot.
This is from the book, 'The Amazing Turkey Rescue' By Steve Metzger Illustrated by Jim Paillot. (We have a lot of his books and we really enjoy them!)
These two are from the book, 'When the Leaf Blew In' Also by Steve Metzger Illustrated by Kellie Lewis.
This is Quins painting of a Vampire. He is amazing.

Wow, you did some pretty cool looking pictures. I couldn't come close to those...mine would have to be abstract. Michael was painting with the kids last night and he did another landscape...I love them and I wish he would do more. Anyway your pictures look like fun pictures for kids...maybe you should be an illustrator for kids books. :)
Audri! That was the coolest post EVER! I am SO impressed... I totally want to paint pictures now! What kind of paints are you using? I'll put off all the things I need to do and paint instead! :) I think it is a great mom/son activity and could become a fun family tradition!
By the way, nice boots! I think they're awesome! And to really make a fashion statement you should wear them with capris!
Your comment made ME laff so hard!!
Wal-mart--here I come! Ha ha!
And think of the possibilities with the laminated pictures. You could mix them all up and then come up with stories with that order... oh man, gotta love cheap entertainment!
Very cool! I can't believe how big your baby is getting. He looks so old. I love the paintings. Those are really great. Now I want to get those books and see the pictures. Very intriguing. Have a fun trip!
Those are some pretty good paintings! I was going to comment and say that you should write a children's book and do the illustrations, but I see that someone already made that comment! I am serious though, I'm positive that you would be published. I know that I would buy the book.
These are sooooooo cute! What kind of paints do you use???? You are seriously talented. I want to do the same thing...how fun!
I can't believe how long Ali's hair is, and the pajama picture made me LOL!
I really want to know what paints you are using --what a great winter activity.
Ok Audri - Since you sucessfully guided me to get my blog looking cute with the picture on the top. How do you get your picture to show up when you make comments?
